"This is
one of the very first images of the eagerly awaited H3 "Baby" Hummer
from General Motors. The H3 will continue the downsizing of
the Hummer
for civilian use, making them more affordable at greatly increased
production figures.
The photo of the H3 prototype shows a modern SUV station wagon
cabin on a strong off road suspension. Pronounced wheel flares
compensate for the reduced width of the cabin. The pictures appear to
suggest that the H3 prototype rides on wheels and axles in the same size
and dimensions as those of the H2. This contradicts previous reports
that the H3 was riding on the smaller Colorado truck platform.
The H3 is expected to be available both as a closed station wagon
and an open pick-up version with a split rear cabin wall that can be
folded over into the truck bed.
While the original H1 Hummer sells in the $100,000 range and
the smaller H2 will go for about $50,000, the H3 should sell for around
$30,000. An even smaller H4 is already in the concept phase."
